About

Our Mission

To create products that taste good, is good for your body and does good.

Made for Change is a social enterprise using food as a force for positive change.
We chose this chilli condiment as our vehicle — a simple, everyday product that creates impact beyond the jar.

Profits from this business support Australian charities working on the frontlines of social change, with our initial focus on organisations helping women impacted by domestic violence through culturally informed support.

This product exists because change doesn’t always start with big gestures.
Sometimes, it starts with what you choose to put on your plate.

What is a Social Enterprise

(Source: Social Enterprise Australia)

A social enterprise is a business that puts people and planet first.

They trade like any other business but exist specifically to make the world a better place.

While they work across industries and have different legal structures, they all:

  • Exist to solve a social or environmental problem.
  • Put people, planet, and their purpose over profit in operational decisions.
  • Have a self-sustaining revenue model.
  • Reinvest most of any surplus towards their purpose.
  • Choose legal structures and financing that protect and lock in purpose long-term.

There are over 12,000 social enterprises in Australia.

They contribute $21.3 billion to the economy or 1% of GDP.

They employ over 200,000 people - about one in 60 jobs in Australia.

The Meaning Behind the Label

The Made for Change label is more than design by our partners Boxer Brands.
It is a visual expression of the impact this product exists to create.

At its heart are two powerful symbols: the Indian Leopard and the Butterfly.

The Indian Leopard

In Indian mythology and folklore, the leopard is a symbol of power, strength, and survival. It represents resilience in the face of adversity — the ability to endure, adapt, and reclaim one’s power.

For Made for Change, the leopard reflects the quiet strength of women who survive violence, navigate complex systems, and find the courage to begin again.

The Butterfly

The butterfly symbolises transformation, rebirth, and personal growth.
It speaks to freedom, hope, and the possibility of change — even after profound hardship.

Within this label, the butterfly represents what happens after safety: healing, renewal, and the freedom to live on one’s own terms.

Together

The leopard and the butterfly exist side by side for a reason.

Change requires both:

  • strength to survive
  • and space to transform

Every jar of Made for Change carries this story — of resilience, dignity, and the belief that a different future is possible.

The Team Supporting Made for Change

This product exists because people chose to support change.

From our website, food stylist and label designers to our spice partners, every collaborator gave their time, skill, and belief to help bring Made for Change to life. Without this collective generosity, it wouldn’t look, feel, or taste the way it does.

The powerful label and logo for Made for Change was created by the talented team at Boxer Brands.
